Visual and vulnerable pop-rock from a dreamer raised on cassette demos and deadly sins.

Born in Massachusetts and now based in Manhattan, D.K. Lyons is the kind of artist who resists easy categorization. A singer-songwriter, producer, performer, and visual storyteller, he’s been building emotional, narrative-driven worlds since 2020, with the same passion he had as a kid, recording demos on cassettes and telling his mom he’d be a rockstar one day.

Influenced by The 1975, Tom Petty, The Weeknd, and Third Eye Blind, D.K. reimagines pop-rock through a lens of cinematic storytelling, rich cultural references (from Dante to the seven deadly sins), and an outsider’s hunger for emotional truth. His songs explore love, loss, hope, and fear, never falling into cliché, often centering strong female figures inspired by the women who raised him.

A new single, a new universe: “stop”

Released on June 27, stop is the second chapter of the upcoming EP Darling Kiss Louder (out August 22). The track channels the nostalgic energy of 2000s pop-punk, paired with a more introspective core. It’s a song made to be screamed at the top of your lungs in a crowd, yet beneath the catchy surface lies a deeper message: stop overthinking, start living.

The music video, dropping July 17, draws inspiration from Sabrina Carpenter’s visual language and represents the sin of gluttony in a symbolic, pop-meets-medieval aesthetic.

An EP that doubles as a film

Each single from Darling Kiss Louder is part of a larger narrative where music and visuals go hand in hand. The concept reimagines Dante’s Divine Comedy through the lens of modern chaos and vice, a reflection of D.K.’s vision to push the boundaries of what a pop artist can be.

D.K. Lyons: Why you should listen now

D.K. Lyons is what happens when an indie heart meets a director’s eye and a pop poet’s pen. If you’re into artists like The Maine, Mayday Parade, Sabrina Carpenter, or Chappell Roan, chances are you’ll dance, cry, and start all over again. Just like his mantra says: laugh + dance + cry + repeat
