In the world of fashion, visuals often speak louder than words. For Ishika Bhandari, a fashion stylist from Vellore currently studying at Pearl Academy in Mumbai, clothing is more than style, it's a language of emotion and reflection.
Her latest editorial, "Anthropocene", explores the age defined by human impact on Earth. Instead of relying on conventional beauty, Ishika uses fishnets as a central metaphor: a reminder of how we pollute our oceans, endanger marine life, and internalize the damage we inflict on the natural world.
“We’ve become both the cause and the consequence of environmental destruction”
By weaving together environmental concerns and personal expression, Ishika creates fashion imagery that isn’t just seen, it’s felt.
Through her work, she invites us to rethink our role in the planet’s story and imagine fashion not as escapism, but as awareness. 📍NEXT-UP is our series dedicated to emerging talents in fashion.
